Colombo Harrods
London. The project for Lanificio Colombo at Harrods in London reinterprets the brand’s identity concept, originally developed by Mantero Associati, translating it into a naturally elegant and welcoming space, carefully attuned to the prestigious London setting.
Soft, organic forms, modularity and close attention to functionality define an environment in which every element contributes to a harmonious and comfortable experience. Rounded geometries evoke the natural world and subtly reference the origin and distinctive quality of cashmere.
The material palette is shaped by a careful balance of authenticity, sensory richness and precision of detail. Wood, a reference to Valsesia and to the roots of Lanificio Colombo, defines the natural-finish panelling, bringing warmth and a sense of craftsmanship to the space. Corten steel adds material depth and a connection with tradition, while the steel display structures introduce a more contemporary language, defined by lightness and rigour.
Materials, proportions, lighting and construction details come together to create a sophisticated yet understated environment, designed both to enhance the product and to support the wellbeing of those who move through and experience the space.
The result expresses the identity of Lanificio Colombo with restraint and clarity: a balance of heritage and contemporaneity, manufacturing excellence and a deep-rooted culture of detail.
